I’m always happy to try new foods with my cats as they can be quite picky. I picked this up for my multi-cat household and set it out in a few trays to see what the overall reaction would be and it was a big hit. They gobbled it up quickly and left nothing. The pieces are larger than kibble and not very soft so if you have a senior or a cat with dental issues you may need to moisten this with some water first. I like the novel protein of quail and pheasant that this food has. However, I don’t understand the long list of fruits and veggies that are included in this food. You can see the ingredients in the description’s photos and it is also listed in the description but they include - chicken, quail, pheasant, chicken heart, herring oil, taurine, mixed tocopherols, carrot, apple, tomato, broccoli, orange, cranberry, pumpkin, spinach, beet, cherry, strawberry, blueberry, and Vitamin E supplement. This is more fruits and veggies than I get and humans are omnivores! I’m not sure why there are so many fruits and veggies in a food for an obligate carnivore which is why I took off a star. Other than that I do appreciate that this is from a small company and is made here in the US. You get a 12 oz bag for a little under $28 which is about right for a freeze-dried premium food.My Amazon rating system-Five stars-Great item. May have a minor flaw that does not detract from appearance or function.Four stars-Great item. Flaw or problem more noticeable. Or, price may be high for what it is.Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product. Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else. One star-Nope. Doesn’t work for me and probably won’t for anyone else.

Nature's Advantage Freeze-Dried Raw Chicken arrived packaged nicely and sealed well. The food is made with quality ingredients, the morsels about twice the size of most brands. My cats really love this food! As soon as I fill the bowl they rush right in and take turns eating until its almost gone.

The quality is good. The size of the bag and the price make this a poor choice for multi-cat households however. The kibble is also oddly large in size.I CANNOT RECOMMEND RAW CAT FOOD CURRENTLY. It doesn't matter that it's freeze-dried, any sort of raw meat could be infected with bird flu which could be a death sentence for your cat. It's important to take the warnings about bird flu very seriously to ensure the safety of your cats, and that means taking precautions such as not feeding raw. Be careful and keep in mind that your pet's health isn't something worth gambling with.

This is high quality cat food and the price reflects that. The cats liked it, but struggled a bit with the larger pieces.

I dont blame the product - looking at the ingredient it seems good product overall. But my cats are generally picky eaters but they are willign to eat a few but not a lot.

So my cat is super picky about cat food. It will NOT eat pate, at all. It's really likes this cat food. She kind of didn't know about it at first, bc it's freeze dried, but now she chomps it down. We actually use this as cat treats and not full out cat food. It's a great value if you use it like that, compared to the cost of cat treats. The quality seem good and I think the real value is in the cats health verses other types of cat food. The texture is somewhat odd because of the freeze dried nature of the food but she doesn't mind it. It's super crunchy.I would recommend for your cat and mine.

This is a 12 oz resealable zipper bag of freeze dried raw chicken, quail, and pheasant grain free cat food nibs from Nature's Advantage. It arrived fresh and factory sealed. When I ordered this, I somehow didn't catch the long list of fruits and veggies that are in this. I mean it definitely has the listed poultry, and the protein content is quite high at 46%. But besides the three proteins, this food has a lot of fruits and vegetables that are just ridiculous in cat food. My cats have never been willing to eat any cat food with fruit, and for the most part this is no exception. I don't know how they know it's there, but they do, and they always reject it. The couple of cats out of my herd who will eat this will only eat a couple, and there has been some vomiting afterward and they refuse the food after that. Besides all that, this food is too high in fat, and it does not disclose its ash and magnesium content, which is not required but is helpful for cats with particular needs and is listed on almost every cat food I've seen. It's a good sign that a couple of my cats found it palatable, because based on past experiences I didn't think they would, but for me it was not enough of them to make this food worthwhile.

I've been looking for a healthier alternative to my cats favorite Temptations Jumbo Stuff treats that they'll enjoy for quite some time. Why they still prefer Jumbo Stuff (which I know isn't the healthiest), they will 100% eat these treats. Could be used as a primary food as well.My cats (M13/F4) are super picky eaters. I've tried so many different treats and foods for them from Amazon, and 9/10 times, they try it and hate it. Not here. They get excited when I pull the bag down for them. The ingredients are very high quality, and freeze drying locks in 100% of nutrients. I worked for a freeze dry company for 10 years and understand the health benefits of freeze dry compared to dehydrated. It's just as good as fresh. My cats don't like wet food, but if yours do, you can try rehydrating these with a very small amount of cold water in a closed container. Set it in the fridge for 1-2 hours to rehydrate and serve!
