The product is good to test continuity on CAT cables, regardless of length. The "transmitter" connects to one end of the cable. The "receiver" connects to the other end of the cable you want to test. It's also used to identify a cluster of unknown cables from afar. The test results are shown in both the transmitter an receiver.

Cheap quality Chinese made product. Stay away or you will feel ripped of and disappointed with this purchase.

Well if you only want to test an e-net cable and you can have both cable ends in your hand it does that.Instructions are not clear and you might think it does a lot more, next time I will get something better.

The most important thing is that the 8 LED's on the right side do the test they are supposed to do and it works as well as any other. The LED's on the left side might do some good, but more on that below. I gave it a good rating because it does the basic job well. What is bad about it is the cheap slide switch with almost no detent. You might have to put tape on it to keep it from turning on when it shouldn't.The seller says the most unique feature is the "QC test" but the Chinglish instructions don't even make clear what this is supposed to do, much less how to use it (and the irony is pretty thick when they combine "Quality Control" testing with China). It seems that it will somehow tell you if you squeezed the connector on with enough force or something, and the 8 LED's on the left side all light simultaneously if it's good, but I can't tell if this is ever capable of detecting a bad one. And what's weird is that you only plug in one end, but whether or not you plug the other end into the other port makes no difference, so this is meant to be used just to test one end. Sometimes they all light up and sometime it gives a false alarm on a known-good connector.
