Good quality, but probably a bit highly priced for something this common. I'm sure the glass is superior to lower cost options, but it doesn't really seem noticeable to me compared to cheaper options. I love Nikon optics and use many scopes, spotting scopes, binoculars, cameras, lenses and range finders. This just seems to be the one Nikon product that I probably should have save a little by going with something a little more 'cheaply' made. This isn't a criticism of Nikon or the Loupe in any way. It's just so small that I'm not sure I see the benefit in the higher price of this when compared to other $10 options that I've purchased in the past.

I wondered how it could be better than the $30 10x magnifier that I purchased to grade vintage baseball cards. I did my research, and read a recommendation of this loupe from a professional jewelry blog and explained that true loupes for use are made from a specific process of combining lenses (I don’t remember exactly) but this is what allows for it not have distortion when at looking at 3D objects. When I first looked into it, it was crystal clear and for the first time I could turn a baseball card and look at a corner and see it from any angle and get a clear image of not just the plane that is parallel of the lense, but deeper and I could see the structure much better than any magnifying device I have ever used.It doesnt look like much, but I am adding it to my small collection of items I plan on having for the rest of my life. I have one $100 compass that is tremendously sensitive and high quality and high quality and other instruments or gear that are worth keeping together as things I want to keep in good condition. Is it overkill at the price for looking at baseball cards, yes. But now I have much something that I can use for other applications. But honestly, I thought I wouldn’t see that much of a difference in quality, but I had the money to spare and I thought this was a stupid purchase until I used it. There is definitely a difference.

Smaller than I thought but has high end optical glass. Nice little piece that should last forever.

Hard to focus and stay focused, field of view is small. Distorts at edge when you are focused in middle.

The optics are really good. My old Nikon eventually fell apart after carrying in my pocket for years. No cheap, but the clarity is worth the cost.

Thank you for making such a great product, I can easily tell that it's made very well! This will be a perfect addition to my keychain that way I will always have a jewlery loupe with me. As a U.S. consumer I have been trying my best to shift all my purchasing away from a certain country and take my business elsewhere. So thank you for making this decision easy to purchase this item and thank you for producing your product in Japan!

From the optics standpoint this loupe is good but I was disappointed in the build quality of the case. I was expecting a rugged metal case but instead it's made out of high impact plastic. I know that plastic makes the case lighter but I don't think the weight issue is terribly significant for a product like this. I was expecting a little higher build quality from Nikon and for a loupe in this price range.

This is an excellent loupe! The lens is the same size as a x10 Zeiss and the lens quality is comparable!! Looks cool! The only downside is that it loosens with time!

I'm a watch collector and enthusiast. I carry this loupe with me every day. It's great for inspecting watches or anything else you might want a closer look at. Yes this loupe, is small but it more than makes up for it in image quality. I haven't found anything like it in the mid range category. You're looking at 100 - 500+ dollars to improve on this loupe.

As expected from Nikon this is a top quality lens; the image is crisp and bright with no obvious distortion or colour cast. The loupe is slightly smaller than I expected but handles well and the construction is very good.
