Pretty good kit. Easy enough to cut and install. The little retainer clips are a nice touch, with good quality 3M VHB tape. There needs to be more of those clips in the box tho, they only give you enough for the model install... people with taller doors or doors that aren't "4 panel" wide may find some need for more clips.

After considering other options, this turned out to be the best option..Easy to install. Would buy again..Just 2 issues: like others have commented, there are not enough clips to put 2 per panel like the video shows, also some of the clips need to be glued to make them hold. It will require 2 boxes for a 16 foot door.

There is no box for a 1.5 garage? I used a box for my garage. The pins were not enough for the job. When winter came here in Canada, with -5 to -10 deg C outside, the panels did help to reduce the heat transfer. But after a few weeks, the panels got wet from the dew. They became heavy and started falling off. The clips don't hold a wet panel. I tried taping but that also didn't hep. Anyways, I will find try the gorilla tape option. But the adhesion needs to be improved in the kit.

To sum it up for the quick glance, this product is great and if it’s falling out of your doors with or without gorilla tape you either have the wrong doors or you installed it wrong! For a more in depth review keep reading...I read a lot of reviews saying that they are disappointed as to how well this product holds up when using their garage doors. If you install it correctly on the right door(per the description, with channels in the door) it will work fine. I did insulated two doors with two of these kits in about 1.5 hours(without the final taping, which took more time than installing the insulation but worth it for both appearance and strength). Watch the install video and you will have no problems.Road noise is gone and as my master bedroom is above my garage I have already heard my air conditioner running significantly less. I cannot wait to see what happens in the winter time.A couple of tips for install:1)When you cut the panels to size, per the video, leave at least an extra inch both horizontally and vertically for a snug fit. This is the case when insulating walls, I only say that because most people have never insulated walls before and it is important to help hold insulation in place until either you cover the insulation or attach backing to the studs.2)Don’t worry about measuring the placement of the pins when sticking them to the door. Eye ball it in the middle of each half panel. Exact measurements are over kill.3)When placing the pin on the door line them all so the gap in the pin is horizontal. For reason see tip #5.4)After placing the insulation panel in before cutting horizontally per my previous tip, make sure to push the whole insulation panel upward. Gravity pushes things down so to keep the panel in if you push it slightly upward then cut horizontally on the back pin it will help keep the panel under the top channel better. This does help keep the panel in place when the doors are in operation.5)Per the install video it says cut an “X” to push the pin through the insulation. I suggest after setting the pin per the above tip #3 cut a single small cut horizontally. This will make it easier to push the connecting pin on so the vinyl doesn’t get caught in the pin for a secure connection.6)Finally, add 2 rolls of 3” wide white gorilla tape to your cart(3 if doing two doors, it takes about 1.5 rolls at 25yds per door). This will take a couple more hours of install time and cost about another $50 but it will make the project look cleaner and will add extra strength to the panel install. These will be on here for a lifetime now.All in all, glad I bought this and my only complaint would be include larger latex gloves for install. I ripped those up putting them on, large hands are a blessing and a curse ;-)

Installation was easy and the size of each section required some simple cutting. As others have mentioned, when the door is open, the pieces can slide out. Added white Gorilla tape - looks good and holds well. Garage is much cooler in the heat; should be warmer in the winter.

Short version: If you are looking at this product then you should buy it. It works that well. That’s my simple endorsement. There is no doubt you will be pleased with the results. Just make sure to use duct tape to help keep them in place.Longer version: My wife was skeptical, to say the least, but I managed to convince her and she finally gave in, if only to appease me. After installing the insulation in Fall of 2019 and going through winter and now summer she is a die hard fan of the insulation in the garage. Temperatures are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Also and an added side benefit is that it makes the garage door operation quieter. That was and unexpected bonus as the garage is below our master bedroom.I even got a “you were right” which is saying something.Notes: If I had a complaint it would that the clips to install the insulation to the doors is insufficient. They fall off often. However, another reviewer recommended using wide white duct tape to attach the edges of the insulation to the garage door for extra support. That reviewer was 100% spot on. Just get the duct tape you will not regret it. Get two rolls for a double car garage.TL;DR; If you think you need this, then you do.

I chose this item over solid Styrofoam because it appeared to be easier and less messy to install and had a higher R value. It's quieter and the garage doesn't get as warm in the Florida summers as it did before. At first I followed the instructions and attempted to cut a 1" piece off the long side of a panel but that didn't go well (it's difficult to cut that small a piece from the pliable fiberglass). So, because the size of my garage door panels was close to the size of the fiberglass panels I put the remaining ones in without cutting. The only places I needed to tape were on one side of one set of panels because there was no overlapping part of the door frame on that side. I've had no issues with panels falling out, but our garage door gets used only once or twice a week. Also, the extra weight hasn't caused any problems with the opener.I would definitely buy this kit again if I had another door to insulate. Make sure that the door surface is clean before attaching the fasteners and don't bother trying to cut off a sliver of insulation.

This is a great product. Easy to install. Makes a huge difference in temperature in the garage. Also works well to dampen the sounds from the street. However I do recceommend you buy some white duct tape to apply on the side edges to keep the product securely attached. It really depends on your garage design, but I found this to be helpful, and using white makes it it blend right in.

Great product, if you have the thin aluminum garage door, the sound dampening is quite noticeable. Installation is easy but time consuming, read the instructions and follow the recommendations. I opted to clean my garage door prior to insulating to avoid buildup of mold under the insulation. Highly recommend this product, I am looking forward to seeing the difference in the winter months, when temperatures drop below -10C.

I tried a few cheap Styrofoam solutions that were very time consuming and labor intensive - none of which resolved the problems of blocking outside heat and cold from effecting temperature inside the garage. This solution from Owens-Corning may seem a bit pricy but is not when you factor in all the time and materials of other products. It installs as easy as it says, and just plain works.I like others opted to use additional edge tape to insure no sag down the line. It was about forty minutes to install on the first door of two, after having the experience of one door behind me, the second took about 25 minutes.Outside temp 78 FSunlight direct on garage doors temp 111 FInside garage 84FTemp on inside garage door insulation panel 86 FI highly recommend this as a solution to creating a thermal barrier on the garage doors

I needed something to keep the cold breeze out of my garage. This was exactly what I needed. I'm not the handiest man aroud the house and this was really easy to install (see video on You Tube). It not only keeps the garage warmer, it also reduces outside noise and reduces the noise the door makes when it closes. It's also a nice white color that reminds me of a quilted bed cover. This will help keep the inside of my house warmer in the winter, especially the master bedroom since it's directly above the garage. A few tips: measure each panel on the garage since there are differences, add at least an inch to each measurement since you'll need extra, and before you cut, look at the white side and cut off the end of the white plastic covering that is wrinkled. When they roll the insulation on side of the white plastic covering gets wrinkled.
