About this item

  • A Gigabit, Mode A/B Inline PoE Splitter for 12 volt devices like IP Cameras, Media Players, and Speakers. Instantly convert IEEE 802.3af PoE to 12 volts for non-PoE devices. The 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel fits most 12-volt devices.
  • 12v splitter works with 802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) to provide 12 watts of continuous 12 volt power. Use with your existing PoE Switch or 48v PoE Injector to power 12 volt non-PoE devices such as outdoor cameras.
  • Use with any 802.3af PoE switch like Cisco or Netgear with 10/100 or Gigabit speeds. Compatible with Arduino, Foscam, Wansview, Airsight, EasyN, Escam, Q-See, Apexis, Wanscam and other non-PoE devices. (For the Roku Ultra, see our GAT-12v25w splitter)
  • A PoE power splitter that converts and 'splits' 44-56 volts of PoE into 12 volts of power on the DC barrel, along with divided 10/100/1000 Gigabit data on the RJ45 connector. Now you can safely extend DC power up to 328 feet away from a power source.
  • All PoE Texas products are backed by a One Year replacement warranty and a 30 Day, no questions asked, return policy. Expert help is only a phone call away. Please call 512 479 0317 for assistance.

A Gigabit, Mode A/B Inline PoE Splitter for 12 Volt Non-PoE Devices like IP Cameras, Media Players, and Speakers. The GAF-12v12w splitter works with 802.3af PoE to provide 12 watts of continuous 12 volt power. Use with your existing PoE Switch* or 48v PoE Injector to power 12 volt non-PoE devices such as Foscam 12 volt outdoor cameras or other devices, up to 328 feet from the source. This Mode A/B inline step down splitter converts 44-56 volts of PoE to 12 volts, 12 watts of power on the DC barrel plus separate 10/100/1000 Gigabit data on the RJ45 connector.

Now you can install non-PoE outdoor camera systems and provide continuous power to the DC-powered cameras from as far as 328 feet away, regardless of their location or proximity to wall outlets, using Power over Ethernet from an upstream switch or injector.

Compatible with any existing 802.3af PoE switch such as Cisco or Netgear with 10/100 or Gigabit speeds.

* With the correct IEEE 802.3af network switch in place, no PoE injector is needed to operate the splitter.

I wanted to use this PoE splitter to power my coax modem connected to my internet provider/ISP Spectrum. The Arris SB6183 that I use comes with a power brick rated for 12 volts and 1 amp, and this PoE splitter provides an equal output. It's also electrically ground isolated as per PoeTexas, which is vital for modems since the coax cable has a separate ground connection at the other end of the wire.I've tried this with non-isolated PoE splitters and the modem will power cycle or in bad cases, fry itself or the PoE switch port it is connected to.Thankfully there were no issues with regard to voltage/ground with this PoeTexas GAF-12V12W v6 splitter. The only issue I had is that it comes with a Type A barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.1 mm ID sizing. However, the modem I use has a Type B barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.5 mm ID. In other words, the PoE splitter did not fit into the jack on my modem. I had to cut the cable and solder on a new Type B DC connector. Another option was to buy an adapter, but I had the spare parts around.Everything is now working perfectly. Full gigabit speeds through the splitter and full 12V 1A power draw support from the splitter. The only way to make this better is to have the pigtail for the power output replaced with a barrel jack so a custom cable can be made.

It was easy to install and worked as described. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to power their conferences cam's via PoE.

It makes 12 volts from POE but does not pass POE to the device. I was hoping to use this to power a doorbell camera and make 12v to power a lock.

I'm using this little guy to power my T-Mobile LTE Gateway so that I can put it in the Attic and get better signal. Not only is it working great, it connects at 1Gbe. Power is being supplied by a Nortel 5200 switch.

Not all network wire is created equal. Make sure to do your research on your network wire. Only use an ethernet wire that supports POE. Outside of that, I would recommend this to anyone needing to power your camera over ethernet.

Works like a charm with my Reolink RLC-423 IP Camera. The POE stopped working at the camera (out of warranty) and I didn't want to have it connected with a traditional power adapter. Plugged it in to my existing ethernet cable that was working previously with my POE switch and then to the ethernet jack and 12v jack at the camera and brought it back to life.

I wanted to convert a PTZ camera to POE and this adapter works quite nicely. While i have not measured the current output it has no problem providing enough current to my PTZ. The construction of the adapter is sold and appears to be a quality product.

Great splitter. High quality.Much easier to run one POE cable than to have to deal with Ethernet and an ugly +12V wall adapter.
