I just got the product assembled today and am impressed with the quality and design. The roof and body of the "silo" extend out over the feeding ports to give some protection from rain. Also the legs have a wider base to make it more stable. I have used a "port" feeding system before and it seems to be the best option, for my situation, for automatic feeders. Unlike the "DYI" version, this has a sloped center inside allowing gravity to push the feed to the ports.So far I am very happy with my purchase!

Very nice feeder - should be for the cost, but you get what you pay for, right? We certainly did in this case. Super heavy duty plastic (reminds me of the "tough stuff" plastic toys in the 70's that my boys had). Assembly is quite easy, with one exception. Best advice is to use a socket wench to install the bolt that holds the lid to the base. There is very little clearance around the nut to tighten it. Once you've done this, just pop on the legs, which are adjustable to several heights!

I absolutely love this chicken feeder. The best investment we have made in our chicken coop. We have over 30 chickens and were feeding them every morning and they would all flock to the door every morning and make it difficult to get into the house. This feeder has made life so much easier for us. We are going through less food because they are able to each when they want and as much as they want and there is not the waste as we were having when we would feed them on the ground with the plastic rectangle feeder. This is very sturdy and keeps the food dry. Made from quality material that we know will last. I am extremely impressed and so happy we made this purchase.

Squirrels love the chicken feed. I bought this to help keep the squirrels out. It does but the darn things are eating the plastic circle holes trying to get to the feed. The round circles are not the thick plastic as most of this is. My chickens do not roost. I have a mix bunch of hens standard and Batam size and they all have access. I did buy black caps to cover the holes at night.

Chickens quickly adapted to it. In damp or soft ground, the legs need a solid base to prevent sinking into dirt. I used a couple treated 2x4 pieces. Works fine now.

This chicken feeder is very well built and as stated will hold entire bag of feed! I love that I do t have to fill but once a week for 14 girls. It is very sturdy and well built. My chickens were afraid of it for a day or so because of its size, but they now use it daily!
