I used this to stretch a canvas photograph over a wooden frame I built. This worked well to pull the canvas tight. The tool is sturdy, but simple. Two pieces of rough cast steel hinged together like scissors. I would prefer if there was a spring mechanism that would automatically open the jaws. As it is, you have to manually open the jaws, which can be inconvenient if you are also trying to pull the canvas with you hand to pull tight. It works, but you just have to get your technique down. Price is pretty good. I would recommend this, but there are probably higher cost options out there that might work a little better.

I ordered these professional canvas stretcher pliers to fix two expensive canvas prints that weren't properly stretched when framed, and they turned out to be an excellent investment. Instead of paying to ship the prints back to the company, these pliers provided a much more cost-effective solution.The pliers are extremely high-quality and heavy-duty, built to handle the job with ease. I’m confident they’ll work perfectly for my needs.The added bonus is that I can now save money in the future by ordering unframed canvas prints, build the frames myself and stretch and staple my own prints. Grippers broke right by the pivot point. Clearly a bad forging job. Can not recommend.
