This snap shackle functions, albeit a little rough in the casting. The release pin works properly, but I don't know if I would trust it with the large weight ratings they claim. The release pin has worked every time, as designed.

Still thinking about the design of this one. It seems more suitable for rigging on a sail boat than for the other uses listed.The design feels more like it is meant to have a cable connected to the release pin. There is a hole in the body where a cable would easily run to pull the pin. I have seen a similar rig on a sail boat in the past.If you try to open the shackle by pulling the pin, it doesnt feel natural but it works. The design is actually really nice if you want a snap-shackle that has a low profile and can sit someplace in the open. It is stamped with "Max 1000 - use 150Kg" which is a bit confusing... I am used to seeing kilonewtons for ratings.
