I’ll admit it—I bought these with a healthy dose of skepticism. Made in China? Check. Potential for hidden surprises inside? Also check. Naturally, I did what any paranoid (but thorough) techie would do: I tore them apart to inspect for any rogue chips (see pics). Verdict? Clean as a whistle and impressively well-built.Now, for the functionality: the one-to-one connections worked flawlessly, delivering solid performance. But when I tested the two-to-one splitter, things got a bit dicey. My Mac refused to cooperate when my PC was hogging throughput, and connection speeds weren’t always consistent.That said, for the price, these are built like a tank and perform well—just don’t bet your setup on the splitter working perfectly. If you need straightforward, single connections, these do the job. If you’re hoping to double up, results may vary.
