Von allen Gummi Saiten auf den Markt, die einzigen die nicht klebrig sind! Die einzigen die sich wirklich toll bespielen lassen und sich wunderbar anhören. Unvergleichlich gut! Es gibt aktuell nichts besseres! Wer Ukulele Bässe liebt, sollte sich diese gönnen.

Habitué aux cordes particulières des ukulélés basses, j'essaye plusieurs textures et marques. Celles ci sont plus que correctes, du mi au sol. Mais un peu collantes, ce qui n'est pas agréable.

Nachdem ich die Aquila 91U auf meinem Mahalo U-Bass ausprobiert habe und enttäuscht sofort wieder abgenommen habe, bestellte ich die Pahoehoe Saiten. Auf den ersten Blick scheinen sie zu kurz zu sein. Sie dehnen sich aber extrem. Die G- und H-Saite wird am Ende fast doppelt so lang.Ich spanne die Saiten über den Sattel und ziehe kräftig bis die erwünschte Tonhöhe ungefähr erreicht ist. Für die dicken Saiten ist eine Zange hilfreich. Die Saite durch den Schlitz im Wirbel ziehen und das Ende parallel zur Saite legen. Jetzt mache ich einen Kabelbinder um die entstandene Öse und ziehe sehr feste zu. Macht bloß keinen Knoten in die Saite, der geht nie wieder auf und muss abgeschnitten werden, wenn die Saite wieder entfernt werden soll. Im Internet gezeigte spezielle Wicklungen um den Wirbel machen auch nur Ärger, da die Saiten so glatt sind, dass sie nicht halten. Nach dem ersten Stimmen immer mal wieder kräftig an der Saite ziehen, damit sie sich weiter dehnt. Gegebenenfalls den Kabelbinder erneut setzen. Bei mir war nach zwei Tagen die Stimmung sehr stabil.Die Pahoehoe haben entgegen dem Aquila-Satz alle die gleiche Oberflächenqualität. Keinerlei Reibung oder Gummi-Feeling, weder für die linke noch die rechte Hand. Alles schön glatt. Allerdings, wie bei allen Kunsstoffsaiten für U-Bässe: bei Glissandi aufwärts ist der erreichte Ton tiefer als wenn er direkt gegriffen wird, abwärts ist er höher. Das liegt daran, dass die Saite durch den Finger mehr gespannt oder entspannt wird. Normal.Der Sound gefällt mir auch.Der nächste Satz wird wieder ein Pahoehoe!

These are perfect for my ubass. I prefer these to the wrapped ones that came on my ubass model. They are a bit short when you start to install them but stretch so much that they wind up being too long. My suggestion is to install them (prestretch if necessary) then tune your instrument every day for a week or two then release them and cut them off a bit. You will need to retune every day for several weeks until stretching is complete.

It's a very special strings. I love it. You have to be careful to put it on your Ubass. It has a unique sound. Like an acoustic bass. I recomend.

Bought these for our Hadean U-bass. These are thicker than the aquila strings that came with it, so they don't fit into the holes in the tuning pegs. You'll have to stretch the bujezus out of them, pull it through the slot and tuck the end under while you turn the pegs. Stretch them as far as you can because it'll still need lots of turns to get into tune! It's a wrestling match, but it does get the job done and you end up with much slicker, less sloppy, easier to play strings! Worth the effort!

I love them. My Oscar Schmidt bass came with white Aquila strings. They sounded great. But they were very sticky and hard to get up and down the neck because of that. These Pahoehoe strings give a great upright type bass sound and are easy to slide around on. The reason for the 4 stars is simple. These strings are amazingly stretchy and are difficult to string properly. Thanks to youtube i found a good way to do it. Being a rubber bass string there not that stable and fall out of tune quickly. After a week of playing and re-tuning the strings are really settling in nicely.After playing on them for awhile i can see why so many U-Bass players recommend these. Id purchase these again.

I am sure these are fine strings but they need to be longer to make them easier to install. May try them again if I can find a longer set. I have a Hadean Ubass 22.

I'm giving this item 5 stars as it is exactly what it says it is and I'm sure does exactly what it says it does...HOWEVER, if you're looking for Pahoehoe strings for an Ashbory bass, these are not them. You want the Light version of these strings for Ashbory bass. So far the Low Tension version of these strings are my favorite Ashbory bass strings. You'll find them with a google search easily enough. FYI I was able to return these to Sam Ash for the cost of shipping, thank you!

Here they are, the right strings for the U-Bass. There are other varieties promising different properties, but these are essentially an exact replacement set for the strings the U-Bass comes with originally. Price was right, and Sam Ashe delivered well-packed and in record time (I ordered the strings when I ordered the instrument, and I got the strings a full week before the bass).

I used these babies to string up a Rogue Bari Uke (from Amazon) and a Belcat Pickup (Amazon again) to make a U-Bass and these strings are the only way to go! Great sound and fun to work with! These strings stretch like crazy ('specially the thinner ones) but eventually settle in...
