I like the fact the flash are not sitting on top of light stands making it possible for children or a pet to knock over my flash. The wall receptacles were also installed near the ceiling on the walls to help prevent child and pet access to the wall receptacles. Also no power cords within child or pet reach either. With my studio flash installed down from the ceiling, I also have more places on the floor nearby to keep props and items which customers bring for portraits. No light stand legs spread out on the floor as a trip hazard as well. So I'm very happy with my overhead light mounts. Very strong and sturdy. Perfect and many advantages in the camera room of my studio.

The pole spins on the rectangular plate it is attached to (via the screw from the back) and can't be tightened enough to prevent the spinning. Therefore, when I attach a studio light and position it in the desired direction, it won't stay. It moves downward by gravity as the pole turns/spins on the wall-mounted plate. The pole needs to be welded to the plate to prevent this. Unfortunately, I can't return the item because I didn't get the opportunity to mount the item (and notice the issue) until after the Return Window timeframe.

First, I would expect Selens to be more thoughtful in their design. The cable loop is to far too small to easily slide any standard size plug through it. (The hole is too small!) Next, Selens did not include a drill template to ensure proper celing installation alignment. Finally, at $45+ dollars, I would expect knobs to be made with with a material that is stronger than the flimsy plastic used. Hopefully, Selens will take this advice and imrprove their quality in the future. Nonetheless, I wish them well and great success! ;-) T

I purchased this in August, but am only getting around to installing it in December, 2 days after my support window has closed. The arm is installed on my wall above my repair station and I was about to record a video, but the spigot for attaching the camera's threads do not match up with my camera (or any of my cameras). Either I got a faulty spigot, or this will not fit standard 1/4" threaded holes on cameras. Camera is a Sony FX30 which uses standard screws for this type of application.

My studio is not big and is loaded with equipment so floor space is valuable. The tripod in the corner rear takes up too much space so I took this mount and actually mounted it to the ceiling replacing the floor tripod. Floor space is now expanded and my placement of my rear side light remains in tact. Awesome.

I’m building a top down camera rig on tracks to make it moveable. This product is a good option for that. It can easily handle my sony ZC-E10 and Sony A7s III with heavy Sigma 24-70mm lens.

The expansion bolts that come with the unit is meant for concrete installation, NOT drywall. Find a stud and use 1½ Wood screws or toggle bolts if you cannot find the stud. The bolts that come with it, drywall cannot stand the torque needed to expand the teeth.

Perfect ceiling mount, I went a bit extra with eye hooks to allow me to slide the mount side to side and screw direct into a stud.
