Came in handy when I traveled and needed to secure my bag while swimming. I like that the cable is retractable and the lock numbers are big. I found to be a good value for the money and worked well.

This will do what I hoped for...it can prevent opportunistic theft, but a determined thief could cut the thin cable without much effort. That is basically all I wanted. The lock is very light weight and compact, unlike most other bike locks. I'm pleased with it.The pass-code changing directions on the box didn't work, but the video and written & illustrated instructions on this page made the process easy. Look above for the instructions!

For me it's about using a very light and compact lock, tied from my bicycle to something that's available, while I'm observing my bicycle from a deli, bakery, or something such. The idea is to keep honest people honest by not providing a situation where an impulsive and quick grab and ride away theft may occur. This lock is perfect for that. Past that, for real security, it's not the lock you'd select since any cable cutter can make short work of it otherwise. It's compact enough to store in my bicycle mounted tool bag so it's there when I need it.For me it doesn't matter that the cable can be pulled out to its stop point (about 30 inches total) after it's locked. If someone was doing that I'd notice immediately and shoo them away (or use my pepper spray if I had to).I've had this lock (and have ordered 2 more because I own lots of bicycles) for 3 years and it still works perfectly. Sometimes I have to finagle the cable until it's seated inside properly but it has always straightened itself out perfectly.I suggest storing a photo of its instructions in your cell phone (assuming you have one) in some photo file named "Instructions" so that you can reprogram the 3 digit security number if you ever have to. In fact, you can do that with all the instructions you'll need for everything else while you're at it.Each time I've bought another one I've researched what else it available and have always concluded this one to be the best available choice. In reading some of the 2 star and lower reviews I'm a bit baffled and chalk it up to either bad luck or user error. It works. Buy it.

Nice and compact so it could easily be carried in a front pants pocket. Easy to change combination just by pushing the female socket into the case. Light duty but will slow someone down, perhaps enough to make them move on.

It’s not meant to be high security, but it fits in my under-seat bag, so I always have it along. Perfect if you're just stopping for coffee or a pickleball game where there’s people around, and you won’t be leaving it overnight.

It won't stop a dedicated thief with a tool, but it is good enough to deter someone from simply riding off with your bike if you need to leave it unattended for a short amount of time. The best feature of this is that it is compact, lightweight, and requires no keys.It can also be used for lockers. The cable is long enough to secure a part of the bike to a post, but a longer cable would be nice to be able to lock more of the bike (front and rear wheels) or a helmet.

I used this during my Hospital stay and when I took walks through the halls during recovery. I was able to lockup my iPad case or purse without worry. At least it took me off the easy mark list for anyone coming through or pass. My nurses were great but still they are the only ones walking the halls or coming in a room.
