Some of you may be familiar with connecting a 12v battery to an inverter so you can get A/C power from D/C power source.Anyway, this eliminate the spark and arc on the battery terminal due to pre charging the inverter.

Needed this resistor to limit current to a new doorbell transformer when the existing house doorbell solenoids are not used because of the Ring doorbell camera was causing the house bell solenoids to buzz. Without this resistor, a previous transformer burned out its secondary windings when the Ring doorbell camera button was pressed. The failed transformer then provided no voltage to charge the Ring camera battery. Installation required soldering 2 wires to the resistor so that connections could be made to one of the transformer's secondary windings screws and the doorbell wire connecting to two Ring doorbell cameras. Everything doorbell wise now works great.

Use these for hooking up my inverters to avoid welding my wires in place ! LoL

Bought these as per Ring recommendation to assist in the charging of its battery pack. Supposedly, these resistors allow the battery to be charged by the houses original doorbell power transformer. For me, this was not the case. In fact, when I installed these resistors, my interior doorbells chime stopped receiving signal when the exterior doorbells button was pushed...

I used this to eliminate the need for a battery for my Ring Version 2 doorbell. It was easy to install and works great! IF you're familiar with a soldering iron and/or crimped electrical connections, then you'll have no issues installing this. If, however, you are not familiar with these, then you may want to seek installation help.

The 2-pack of this resistor arrived quickly. It took me a while to get up the guts to put the doorbell in but everything is working as it should and the resistor prevents over-voltage from the transformer. I left our resistor hanging in the air in our attic. Was going to solder wires to the connecting terminals but I decided to just tightly wrap the wire around the terminals and rubber/electrical tape the install. My thinking is not to heat the resistor unnecessarily trying to solder. Just paranoia I'm sure but you never know.Anyway, the TiToeKi Resistor 50W 25 Ohm resistor works perfectly with my Ring Gen2 doorbell.

Wow, in less than 72 hours from order time to installation with this. Read all the reviews posted here. Can not understand why so many have a problem with installing it. Basically it is just a resistor in series with a 24 volt A/C transformer feeding a device. In this case the RING unit. The main purpose of the resistor is to limit the current flowing in the circuit. Also there is a slight voltage drop across it. Being a retired TV service tech for over twenty years now it was a bit of concern getting this part and paying postage for what I would have been able to purchase several dozen resistors of this type! Those that wrote saying,”It did not work” must have another problem not related to this fix for having to recharge the battery every few months. One other factor, when using the 24 volts to the unit the round push button glows white. Nice for when it gets dark at night. My unit sends signal to phone and wireless chime. Perhaps those having problems with wired chimes are not completely the circuit full time across the two terminals on the RING unit. I suspect they have an open circuit perhaps still connected to a normally open doorbell button. Just Take a voltage reading at the RING units terminals it should be 16-24 Volts A/C at all times. So to sum it up, just add one of the two resistors in series with one of the 24 volt leads off the transformer going to the RING and your unit will always be charged.
