This is a well made soft box! Easy to figure out -- keeps everything under tension. One thing to watch out for. There is apparently no standard amongst the light manufacturers around this diameter. Mini Bowens is not compatible with Godox which is not compatible with Neewer. Which is lame. It's going to put a lot more things into the landfill.Build quality is good though!

Small Portable minor durability concernsComes with a softbox, inner and outer diffuser, grid and instructions, and a nice carry bag. I like lighting gear that includes small carry bags as it helps transport so important for a portable softbox like this. While putting it together is intuitive the manual does help in understanding how to snap the softbox into place.Critical for ease of use is that it's easy to snap into place as any softbox dealing with shaping rodes into place can become tedious. It's easy to push this out and can push the individual rods into place as they don't all snap in at once. There are inner velcro straps to use the inner diffuser with and there's a broad outer velcro stip making it easy to add the outer diffuser and the grid. The inner diffuser helps soften the potential hot spot in the center of what is essentially a very small softbox.Used with my 60W Ulanzi light this Mini Bowens mounts fit, softens, and adds directional control avoiding spill. Keep in mind the softbox is small so must be fairly close to the subject. You may want to consider getting the 60cm for doing some interviews giving you a broader softer area.My biggest concern is the build quality. It's nicely designed but it's nearly all plastic except for very thin rods. The stitching is such that they may come apart over time. This is an expensive softbox though. If you're a tablet creator in your home studio it'll fare well though. If you're taking this on remotes to do tight head and shoulder shot interviews (which is what you'd do with a box this small) do be a bit careful for repeated openings and closings. Keep in mind the price does allow for easy replacement over time. Considering that it's a good softbox I do wish it were designed more durably for transport and remote use.

This mini softbox really helped us step our game with product photos, especially since the small size allows us to squeeze it into our setup when we need some special additional lighting.We currently don't use any Ulanzi lights (yet), so we have to 3D print some adapter rings to use other brands of speedlights, but we're used to have to improvise since we're not professional photographers and just do what works for us.Good quality, easy to assemble and great diffusion, highly recommended, especially if you have compatible Ulanzi lights.has improved the photos for my Etsy shop tremendously. It's incredibly easy to use, which is perfect since I'm not a professional photographer. Just attach it and it's ready to go. Its small, lightweight design makes it ideal for smaller workspaces like mine. It includes a carrying bag, handy for working in different locations. It helps eliminate harsh shadows and glare from some of our products, evenly spreading light and greatly enhancing my shots. It has certainly made my photos look more professional, which I hope will help my Etsy shop stand out.

The softbox has rips and isn't high quality, support is even worse.

I have a few other lights in this category with the same smaller mounts, but they weren't compatible with the fit of this softbox mount. Thankfully I also own a Ulanzi LT028 40W Portable LED Video Light that this softbox mounted to perfectly.I love how compact and simple it is to set up. Everything about the spring mechanisms was solid as they clicked in place.As you can see from my photos, without the diffusers it throws a beam of light the same shape as the shell of the softbox. But once I added the inner and outer diffusers, it really softened up the light very nicely as you will see in my photos.So of course the farther back you pull the light the wider the spread of the light is, which you can of course adjust with your subject in your photo or video shoots.I think the biggest feature about this little softbox is the fact that it's compact and easy to set up quickly. It comes with a nice carrying bag and easily fit into my big carrying case that I keep all my lighting equipment in.

Review for: "Ulanzi AS-D30 30cm Mini Bowens Mount Octagon Softbox Octagonal Speedlite, Studio Flash, Speedlight Umbrella Softbox with Carrying Bag, Lightweight Compatible with Ulanzi 40W/40W Pro/60W Video Light."I tried this softbox on ULANZI LT005 60W Portable LED Video Light to take product, photo.It give a nice even lighting for small products as expected from small (30 cm / 12 inch) softbox.Using both the inner and outer diffuser, it reduce a lot of light from the 60 watts LED, which is as expected.It is actually not as effective as bigger size softbox (at least 25 inch), But this is not the items fault. It applies to any softbox this size.The deal breaker for me is, it create overheat much faster to the LT005. The heat protection kicked in and it dimmed the LED to probably by 50%.Again, this is probably not this item size, it is the LED light that not having good heat dissipation.But, the small mount and the design contribute a lot for overheating issues.
