Delay when switching, because it disconnects devices from one computer and reconnects to the other.Does not switch to a computer that is in screen saver mode.

This has been invaluable to eliminate the unnecessary unplugging and plugging in of device cabling.

I use this at work in a teaching environment where I need to be able to show stuff on 3 machines: a PC, Linux box and a Mac. I have been able to get rid of 4 screens and two keyboards and mice in my small teaching room and students are not distracted by the other screens when their attention needs to be on the one I'm using. The remote control, I find, is a bit odd. I'm sitting at my desk, in front of the keyboard and I have to pick up the remote to switch to another PC. The remote works via an IR extender sensor (on a wire) which has to sit on my desk. Why not just replace all that with a button on a wire? What if I lose the remote? I can kick the main device into the tangle of cables and boxes behind my desk because the remote extension thinggy works well. That aside, the device works really well, all cables are supplied and it's easy to set up. Feels like a nice, quality bit of kit.

I've had this for 1 day, and I'm thinking of returning it.1) the HDMI electronics inside it are VERY picky about monitor size. I run my pc's at 1920x1080. But, I had to boot into the BIOS/UEFI of one. When doing so, I got a message saying "doesn't not support this resolution, try using 1920x1080". I can plug the monitor directly into the PC, and it shows the BIOS screen just fine. But, when I route HDMI signal through this KVM it complains. And, it's this KVM switch. I have a 2 pc iogear KVM that had no problems showing BIOS screens and what-not. So, the internals of this 4 pc KVM seem to be "meh" quality and will force you to direct-plug pc's into monitor if you need to mess with BIOS/UEFI.2) Just switching between PC's that have gone into sleep mode seems to be a chore. I switch, give it like 2-3 seconds, move my mouse... nothing. My mouse and keyboard are wireless USB, but I've got a wired trackball as well that's plugged into the KVM. Move it around.. nothing. I switch back to pc I was just using. It shows it ok. I switch back to the sleeping pc I'm trying to wake up... still doesn't wake. Turn the KVM off, turn it on... switch it to a PC number that's not hooked up.. Eventually, I give up and just manually press the power switch on the sleeping pc to wake it up.I don't know why this KVM is having such a hard time piping input signals to sleeping PC's, but this is ridiculous. Again, with the 2 pc iogear KVM, I didn't have these problems. I'd switch pc's, move my wireless mouse, pc would wake up.This KVM, and pretty much all the other 4 pc ones for around $100 are all made-in-china. Probably all made by the same manufacturer, just resold through hundreds of different stores "rebranding" them as if they're the ones making them. (I learned that when I was buying a 150cc made-in-china scooter. There's 2-3 real manufacturers, but hundreds of resellers that rebrand them to make it seem like they manufactured it. There's a reason all these things look the same; it's because they're all made by a few real manufacturers, but resold by tons of sellers "branding them" as if they're doing something different when they're just reselling the same stuff.)If you want a higher quality KVM, you're going to have to pay $300+ some place else. EG: the IOgear 4 pc one was like $400, which is why I didn't get it. If you want a quality one not made-in-china, you're gonna have to shell out $600+.So, for $100... I guess it "gets the job done", and has "liveable" issues. But, it's not as seemless as my old IOgear KVM. You're gonna have some frustrations with it. And, hopefully your pc's are within arms reach, so you can hit the power buttons to wake them up.If I had to do it over, I wouldn't get this again.

This is a very handy device, I use it on the wall mounted TV in my office which I use as a monitor and a TV. I plug my PC, Firestick and Bluray player into the device and output it to my TV so I dont have to mess about with cables and switch between AV channels on my ancient TV.Build quality is very good - it is made from powder coated steel making it reasuringly weighty. In operation it could hardly be much simpler: plug the various devices into the inputs on the back, then connect the output to the back of the TV/monitor, plug in the 12V power supply (supplied) and you are good to go. Switching between input devices is achieved by either buttons on the front of the unit or via the remote control. The remote has 4 input buttons and on/off which is hany for when you are turning everything off. Should you wish to keep the unit out of sight or behind other devices there is a extended remote sensor supplied that plugs into the box and which picks up the commands form the remote.Switching between inputs is seamless, theres no clicks or buzzes or the like - the newly selected input appears instantly with no jitters. Any audio that is playing is switched in the same manner. Theres a mechanical on/off switch on the front panel which means that if you are not using the unit, you save a bit of power as it is not on constant standby. All in a very good and useful device.
