Yes it is stainless steel but a magnet sticks to it. One of the rugged hangers was welded onto the muffler crooked, wasn't satisfied with the accordian style bends that flattened the tail pipe and so sent it back.

Just put it on today. Perfect fit and close to factory sound if not better. It was the easiest exhaust to install I ever did .I will try to remember to post another review a year from now .

Perfect replacement fit for the original muffler on my 2006 4 cyl Tacoma. Had to purchase the short inlet pipe that connects to the Cat outlet (it was part of the original muffler assembly but not included with the Walker replacement). I would have given this 5 stars but for the fact the Walker muffler has a louder exhaust note. Couldn't hear the exhaust with the factory muffler. Perhaps some my like it this way.

Purchased elsewhere but wanted to encourage others towards this muffler. Installed on an 09 tacoma 2.7 RWD base regular cab with 110" wheelbase (the only wheelbase for that setup)Didn't have the funds for OEM and wanted to minimize noise.I first tried a Bosal because it didn't require the additional midpipe (Walker $21.79+shipping) and exhaust clamp (Walker $1.37+shipping) that this one does. The welds had multiple little holes in them, but I ran it anyways because the part was shipped and I needed the truck. Two weeks in the Bosal began to fail internally. Two months in it failed completely. Finally swapped it for this quietflow yesterday, and it's leak-free and quiet. May have a little more drone than OEM (can't recall,) but totally tolerable and perfect. My mom drives it, she's 70, and she called me in the middle of her first drive to tell me how great it was.I ran the truck on jack stands and had my girlfriend hit the gas while i was under, no leaks at all.One note: when connecting this to the midpipe, hold the midpipe up next to where it'll slip in and mark the midpipe with a sharpie to indicate how far to insert cuz there's no flange or tab inside to stop it. that'll keep yuh from scratching up the rust-resistant finish on the midpipe as a result of pushing it in too far and having to pull it back out. Some have said the pipes rust. If you're in the rust belt, hose off or put a sprinkler under your car after driving on salted roads. It works.PS: The proper clamp size is 2 1/4". I'll upload a vid of the sound.

Bought it because it was stainless steel. Replaced the factory exhaust which had rotted away. New muffler was much lighter than the stock and very thin. Has a tinny sound which is not pleasant.

don't think stainless steel includes the welded on tailpipe,a bit deceptive
