About this item

  • UTILITY TORCH FOR OUTDOOR USE: 20,000 BTU. Quick-start trigger produces a large flame that is easily adjustable and controllable, to aid you in many outdoor essentials including weed control, grill and fire pit ignition, and snow melting. Quickly extinguishes when the job is finished.
  • SELF-IGNITING MECHANISM: Powered completely by propane or MAPP gas. Simply fasten a small sized propane or MAPP gas cylinder tank (not included) to the end. Then squeeze the trigger and your weed killer torch will fire right up. The control valve regulates the pressure of your flame, so you are always in control of the flame’s output.
  • LONG-REACH KEEPS YOU AT A SAFE-DISTANCE: Reaches 34” in length to reduce unnecessary bending and crouching while landscaping, and the chances of sustaining burns or other injury when igniting a grill or campfire. When properly operated in accordance to the operation manual (provided), a weed control torch is a safe alternative to manually removing weeds by hand.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT FEEL WITH ERGONOMIC HANDLE: The slip-resistant ergonomic foam-padded handle offers a nice balance and maximum comfort for you to effectively burn away unwanted weeds in your lawn, flower beds, gardening, or along the cracks on your sidewalk and driveways. The propane cane torch is lightweight, giving you complete control of the tool for detailed burning — even one-handed.
  • EASY STORAGE: Once you've used your weed burning torch, all you have to do is let it cool off and place it in a well ventilated area. The thinly engineered rod of this cane torch is perfect for your valuable shelf space.

You cannot get a gas cannister in the uk that is compatible with this product. I foolishly bought the recommended gas bottles however they weren’t compatible! As the product is from the usa, it was a total nightmare to return using ups; had to fill in forms etc. total hassle. Refund took ages and I realised it actually went into my gift vouchers rather than back into the account it was paid for with. All in all, my worst experience with Amazon to date in every way. Come on guys; please get simple things like this sorted; you are usually so good!

I've been using this for about a month and it's been easy to start and reliable. I like being able to use small propane canisters. This isn't going to be a fast, burn everything to the ground in seconds. I compare it to using a pressure washer. Kinda slow, but does a great job and so much easier and faster than pulling weeds. Plus it's easier on the back. Once the initial clearing is done, it is quick to go back and get any new growth.

Bought this as it was a more expensive option hoping it would be a reliable and trusted make.. boy was I wrong I may as well have bought the cheap gear on offer. Did not work at all from new. Tried 4 different gas canisters and no joy so returned for refund. Don’t waste your money and be fooled like me into buying more expensive options hoping for trouble free use. Gave 1 star as no option to give none

This product works great. It’s good quality and works well for its intended purpose. All that being said, there are some usability aspects that I didn’t realize before I purchased this. Read on.First, this is very cathartic but not entirely effective. It feels great torching weeds and out of place grass. We’ve used this several times and it does roast things however grass grows back very quickly. Unless you roast grass for a really long time, it will grow back.Secondly, torching green grass puts out a horrendous smoke that is so pungent you will need to shower and change clothes even after a short session if any of it gets near you. This stuff stunk up our clothes and our house. It smells awful. So the products itself it solid and deserves a good review. I’ve had no problems with it, but be careful what you wish you is the morale of this review.

Works as expected. It is a bit awkward to set down on the ground due to the angle it imposes on the gas tank. I guess you could lay it sideways, but I'd like to avoid that with the gas tank.

Worked as advertised the first time I used it. The igniter worked on the first push of the button. With the propane bottle attached it was well balanced and the right length to use comfortably. I cleared my patio of all the weeds and moss in half the time. Definitely the right tool for the job.

I spent about 45 minutes burning weeds from cracks in a concrete sidewalk, a brick path, a concrete driveway, and the asphalt street in front of my house. It was great on most weeds, but a little frustrating on the low, really dense, small weeds in the sidewalk. They’re very dense and I think have a high water content, so they burned slowly. Still FAR better than being on my knees with a screwdriver scratching weeds out of the cracks, which I’d otherwise do. I don’t know yet if the roots will push new growth, but I figure routine maintenance will be easier and faster than the initial burning. Following up with a broom to at least disperse the ash makes the result look lots better.Start-up/ignition was flawless every time, and in using it almost nonstop for 45 minutes I had none of issues of any parts of the torch melting, or the finish bubbling, as a couple of reviewers have reported.Definitely not for big weeds. I was thinking that on those it might work to burn off only the seed heads, but the wind/force generated by the torch moves seed stalks around in a way that makes it hard to get them to burn.Might be worth the modest extra cost of MAP gas (which burns hotter than propane), which I’ll probably try next time.Just don’t think it’s magic, or that it works on big weeds, unless they’re dry, and I think you’ll likely be happy with this torch, especially considering that the alternatives are chemicals of getting down on your knees! I strongly recommend against even trying it on poison oak!

I already had a larger torch I had been using for weed killing, but it was overkill for smaller weeds in between the pavers in my driveway, plus it was way too short for me - I'm 6-4, so I liked the idea of a longer, lightweight tool like this. It starts up easily, doesn't extinguish itself, and is super comfortable, balanced, and quiet (my other torch sounds like a jet engine funny car). It's just powerful enough to zap the hellishly relentless weeds in south Florida. If you've got a big gravel driveway or another large weed problem - this is not for you. If you've got @#$%* pavers with the weeds every so many feet (I wish everyone involved in deciding that paver driveways in Florida would look nice or be a great idea will suffer until their untimely demise), this is definitely for you. It works waaaaaay faster than weed killing chemicals, is nicer to surrounding/nearby turf and is probably better for the environment (I haven't done the carbon math - sorry). It's a simple tool, but I've had it running for 20-40 minutes at a time about 5 or 6 times now and I really wish I bought this earlier rather than make do with larger torches.

I bought this torch thinking that my weed problems would finally be conquered, only to find that that is not necessarily true. I had visions of the torch quickly turning weeds to crisp death. I have not yet tried using it in my grass yard. I think it would probably kill surrounding the grass. Fortunately, I have a lot xeriscaping with lots of small weeds. The torch worked well in that area. But you have to leave the torch on the weed longer than I had envisioned. If you have this kind of landscaping and you have a problem with numerous small weeds, using this torch is the way to go. I tried it on larger weeds, but it takes too long to turn them crispy- better to just pick 'em. I do burn small amounts of trash (I don't shred sensitive info). It is quite easy and quick to use the torch for that. I had bought those little camping propane bottles to use as fuel. I was afraid that I would use them up quickly, but that wasn't a problem, at all. I have a large front and back yard and spent a long time burning weeds, and never used up 1 bottle. It took several burnings to use the bottle up. I also like that the torch has an electric push button lighter. So, it's never a problem to just screw on a propane bottle and fire it up.I would like to say that even though this torch did not quite perform in the way I envisioned, I enjoy using it. It is so simple to use and it's so cheap that I value it alot.
