  • Tungsten electrodes are used in arc welding with inert gas and tungsten (TIG). Tungsten is used at very high temperatures as it resists melting and degrades very little (if working in a controlled atmosphere with inert gases as is usually the case).
  • Lanthanated electrodes are popular due to the relative ease of striking an arc and lower amperage required. They perform exceptionally well in both AC and DC applications

I am pretty new to TIG and have done mostly MIG welding, but these seem to work as well as the samples that came with my welder, I couldn't really tell a difference. Was able to put down a nice weld and had no issues.

As someone who is just starting out with TIG welding, I’m always looking for products that are both affordable and effective. The MENDELEEV STYLE WL-20 Blue 1/16" Tungsten Electrode TIG Welding 10-Pack has exceeded my expectations in both areas. The kit arrived with 10 electrodes neatly stored in a decent storage box, which was a nice touch since I didn’t have to worry about finding a place for them.Since I’m still learning the ropes of welding, I appreciate that these rods are smooth and sized evenly, making them easy to work with in my TIG welder. I’ve been using them primarily on 3/16 inch and quarter inch iron, and they’ve performed really well. Although I’m still familiarizing myself with the specifics of tungsten grades, I can say that the 2% lanthanated WL20 electrodes have been a great fit for my needs so far. The arc stability is impressive, which helps me produce more consistent and cleaner welds. While they’re not perfect (I’m still a beginner after all), I’m not embarrassed by the results I’m getting with these rods. One of the standout features for me has been how well the tungsten holds its tip and how easily it sharpens. As a beginner, I tend to accidentally stick the tungsten to my project every now and then, but I’ve found that these electrodes hold up well and are forgiving in that sense. They sharpen easily, so I don’t have to worry about wasting rods when things go wrong. Since the price is reasonable, I feel comfortable replacing a rod when necessary without breaking the bank.In summary, the MENDELEEV STYLE WL-20 Blue Tungsten Electrodes are a great choice for anyone new to TIG welding or anyone looking for a reliable and affordable option. They’ve helped me improve my welds, and the convenience of having 10 electrodes on hand means I’m always prepared for the next project. I’d definitely recommend these to other beginner welders like myself.

I have only Tig welded a few times but these rods seem to work nicely. The rods are smooth and size is even all of the way down. I was able to make fairly even welds, again I only Tig welded a few times so I don’t make the best welds but these seem to perform nicely. I am building up my supplies and these seem to be good all around rods to have.

I recently acquired a TIG setup, and I'm building up my supply of expendables, so I thought I would give these tungstens a try. Excellent choice. These tungstens are well made out of good quality material. Fit and finish are good. Easily sharpened. Works well. Comes in a nice plastic case to keep them together and organized. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

I don't have specific jobs that require 2% lanth, but it was the all-around go-to electrode for much of my TIG work in the past. LaZYr prices are pretty high, so this is a good cost saving alternative that will still get the job done.Sharpens and welds just like it should, no issues on my end. I'm using this for fine AC aluminum work.

I got these for use on my HTP Revolution 2500 and they are working really well. I pretty much only use two sizes, 1/16 and 3/32. I have an electric tungsten sharpener that allows me to put precise angles on the tungsten. I find that the diameter of these electrodes fit 1/16 collet and the1/16 holes in my sharpener just perfectly. They hold up really well and most of the time the only reason I need to mess with them is because I made a mistake and dipped in the weld pool or something like that... but even when that happens, they are easy to clean up and sharpen. I normally sharpen about 4 or 5 of them and put them in an old glass spice jar so I can pick one out of it with my welding gloves on... I found that if anything contaminates the tungsten, it's best to stop immediately and replace it instead of trying to finish with a messed up electrode.I'm very happy with these and will get more in the future!

The rod diameter is consistent all the way down so I don't have to worry about it jamming up in the torch. It holds a tip well even at higher amps.I don't have any issues with jumping or skipping around. The beads all lay down cleanly.Overall great electrodes.Highly recommended.
