I got this to prune a large phormium at the ground....they are tough to prune and this tool worked well. It's just something that should be handled with care and attention!

I wanted to use this to cut though roots while trying to dig up the root balls of some dead plants. It just acted as a hook and made it a bit easier to grab and pull up the roots but didn't cut through anything. The roots were 1/4" at most. Seems dull. Made in China. Edit: owned this for two years and now it is rusting.

I attached mine to a "gopher pole" (extendable pole with 23ft length) to cut velcro and zip ties inside of hard to reach places, usually old plumbing chases where low voltage cabling was placed years ago. I had to notch the handle and use zip ties and electrical tape to hold it in place, but it works very well for hooking and cutting these materials. Keep it sharp with a knife stone!
