Unfortunately I didn't investigate thoroughly before ordering and it was substantially smaller than our current one. Didn't want to risk swapping them out. Color was very nice though and it felt well built. Donated it so hopefully someone else can use it.

I put this on my boat trailer today. It only has a small 16 foot fiberglass boat on the trailer. With only 2 cranks to tighten the boat to the trailer; one gear pushed (bent) over and into the next. The seller did their part, no complaints there, however the product is made of VERY poor materials.

The 2000 lb is probably overkill on a PWC/jetski trailer, but I could always use on the boat if needed. The handle comes unattached and uses a nyl-ock nut to keep it on which is a nice touch. Webbing appears to be good quality with adequate stitching at the hook. The hook itself has a narrow opening (size listed, I think 5/16"), so depending on the application you may need to consider whether it will work well. Gearing looks OK and the reverse (to let strap out) uses a different mechanism than my other winches, but it seems to work - we will see if spring age will weaken it. Gears line up good enough. The paint on the body of the winch is good, but be careful tightening the mounting bolts so avoid damaging the paint and creating a source for rust. Overall its quite good, but perhaps not as robust as my big boat winch. I may update to 5 stars after using a little.

This works ok - its probably capable of its rated 2,000 lbs under ideal conditions - and should be fine for smaller loads. The fit and tolerance of the gears and the drum seem poor but they are functional - the gears on both sides of the drum helping to keep it centered and preventing it from slipping off the side of the drive gears.Putting the handle on took a little work - it needed tapped down the shaft with a hammer before there were enough threads to attach the nut. Once tightened up, it seems fine.Ratchet is selectable - forward/reverse or off - even off, pulling out the strap requires that the handle spin and it takes a little effort -It's unclear if and where the winch should be lubricated - but it seems like it will need some when used around salt water.4:1 ratio does give a decent amount of leverage - it decreases slightly as the strap fills the spool.Unlike the wire rope winches, this should be much less prone to jamming up or pricking holes in your hands from broken wire strands.Decent little winch for basic uses.

I got this winch to go on my kayak trailer. It was very easy to install with just two bolts. It has a very smooth action and is easy to crank. It is well-built and designed.

This was easy to install and works great for us. It cranks well and doesn't seem to have any problems. Very happy with this.
