Followed the directions in the package plus some help from YouTube to properly wire this wet switch up. Pushed the test button and it shut down my A/C system as intended. I haven't had any leaks to see if it works when sensing moisture and hopefully never will.

Easy to install just 2 or 3 wires (did the install a few months ago) just swapped out the old one wire for wire. New one did trip due to setting it on my pant leg in the attic in Texas as I installed it. Recommend not setting on a sweaty or wet surface for quickest results. Saved a lot on an AC repair call.

My HVAC man suggested I get this hockey puck size water detector that will shut down the AC unit if even if it senses a couple of drops of water leakage. This will prevent the AC unit from dripping water into your pan which can handle only so much water before spilling over on the floor, wetting your basement, until you realize your system is leaking. If your AC unit is in your attic, this device is an absolute must to prevent ceiling and wall and floor damage to the room below the unit. My AC man showed me how the typical auto water detecting devices are mechanical and water must rise high enough to push up the float to turn the system off. This may fail completely, but even when they do operate properly, your drip pan is already nearly full of water. Eliminate any significant build up of water by installing this device which operates electronically instead of mechanically.

Replaced an equivalent item that apparently went bad. Same color wires. Attached like for like and voilá it works. Very easy to install if you already have one in. I wouldn't have had a clue if it was a de novo install.

I am powering this switch with a 24 VAC transformer. I have connected this switch to a RIB 24P relay which is wired between the switch on the wall and the pressure switch on my pressure tank. I wired relay to the normally closed side. I place the wet switch on the floor of my utility room. If it senses water, it sends a 24 VAC signal to the relay which opens, and disconnects power to my pump. It seems to work well. I don't know exactly what size my pump is, but the control box on the wall is rated to 3/4 HP.....therefore, my submersible pump will be 3/4 HP or less.

After suffering the effect from a 1 in water pipe leak in my home served with a well and submersible pump, I decided to add a “Fail Safe” layer of security. This is in addition to the other layers I have using wireless connectivity through my router. I wanted this layer to be as simple as possible with no wireless, internet, etc I fabricated a solution using this device directly connected to a 240v relay in series with the pump turn off switch. It works as desired, with no issues from having to initialize after power, etc. The WS-1 appears to be fabricated as a commercial level product, above that of many of the homeowner devices available.

I try and test this switch once a month. So far it has been reliable, thankfully we have not had to rely on it for flooding.

Great product. Place it next to your furnace/air handler, water heater, washer, etc, and wire it into the equipment. When it detects water, it shuts down the unit so it doesnt continue to produce water to potentially harm floors, walls, or whatever else might be around. I install a lot of these, I've only had 1 or 2 go bad and need replaced. Has built in lights, goes red if its tripped, which will shut down unit until the wet switch is dried out and the reset button is pushed, at which time it goes back to green and everything runs normal. Very sensitive sensor for detecting water with a water wicking material adhered to it for better detecting.
