These are definitely heavy enough to support what I wanted to use them for - 1 mounted tom and 2 cymbal booms on each of 2 9000 series bases. Unfortunately I have some issues with them - the first complaints I've had about any Gibraltar product ever.Two small criticisms and one "show stopper" for me. 1) The memory lock collar supplied is not hinged, so sliding it onto your 9000 series cymbal stand's 1" shaft will be metal on metal all the way. 2) The memory lock "notches" on the 3 clamps don't work with the tabs on 9000 series collars. You'll need to buy different collars. 3) And fatal for me... on each of the 3 clamps, the bolt on the side with the wing nut is not captive. That is, the bolt doesn't pass thru a hole but rather an open slot. When the wing nut is loose, the bolt and wing nut swing completely open. This means that if the wing nut becomes loose at all, rather than your cymbal or tom staying in place and at worst wiggling around a little, it is instead free to crash completely onto whatever is below it. Not sure why you would design it this way, but I will not use these without some alteration. A 20" ride and the boom it's attached to falling onto the top of my kick or floor toms will certainly do damage and be more than a little embarrassing - I don't play grunge.

Excellent product. The original Gretsch tom stand was never very useful or easy to secure tom where I wanted them. This stand, combined with the L-Rod hardware offered give me both the flexibility and rigidity I need. Glad this stand was available.

Bought this to move my toms from being bass drum mounted and mount it to my 9710TP Stand.1. I didn't expect it to be this hefty.2. Added much need expansion to my kit.Thinking about getting a second one. Highly recommend it to anyone that needs to arrange their kit setup differently or expand it

I used this to mount my two rack toms and a crash cymbal; instead of having them attached to the bass drum. Works very well! The only thing I would say is to realize that the shaft is a 1" diameter - I had some trouble finding a stand to fit it into. If you are attaching it to a rack or have a 1" stand then this works great. There is also a similar model that includes a tripod stand.

seems to be pretty sturdy. just set the thing up for the first time and havent really tweaked it enough to get the right balance. i have my 2 rack toms on the single clamp and a cymbal arm on each of the 2 movable clamps mounted into the gibraltal vertical stealth mount system thinger. hoping it holds up with cymbals on the movable clamps
