The product is great (have been using Intermatic timers for years), and programming appears reasonably easy but BE CAUTIOUS. If your electrical system only has black, white and ground leads, it doesn't work. Only works with the additional white neutral. Wish they included that in BIG LETTERS before I bought it and wasted two hours trying to make it work!!

Over the years I have been in my home, I have gone through 3 iterations of this timer. The one had an overly complication dial that you had to turned like a locker padlock to program...and if you goofed up, you had to start the whole process again. The next version was a "light" digital version, still more complicated than needed to program. This version is by far the best. Much easier to program with a much larger, brighter screen. I have put these timer in the homes of my relative and neighbors.

Easy to install and program. Very reliable timer. Used to control three LED outdoor garage light fixtures. Using the SUNSET ON to SUNRISE OFF feature and it works perfectly.

The concept of the timer is impressive; the buttons though, the up/down/enter buttons, stick when trying to make a selection. Really need to be better made for such a high end designed timer.

Intermatic has been making timers and switches for many years so a long history of experience. The instructions are fairly straightforward especially if you have installed light switches and timers in the past. The menu system is pretty easy once you get the hang of it even though i kept getting stuck on how to exit the menu. I like the fact that you also have the option to have the lights turn on at dusk and then off at 10:00PM as an example vs always staying on from dusk - dawn. Some people made the comment that the display can be hard to read after install but there is a setting to turn the backlit on permanently vs have it shut off after a few sec which is a nice feature. Just installed so will see how long it lasts but first impressions are very good!

I really like the timer, and it works really well- fairly quiet compared to other digital timers I’ve used in the past. The only thing I don’t love is the weak backlight. It’s works, but if you are older and with slightly declining eyesight, a weak backlight is slightly annoying. The programming instructions do not make clear that each on/off is a separate numbered event. Number one (for example) is on at the set time, and then you go to the next event to set the off time for that same cycle. Once you get that, it makes sense. The instructions should be better. Overall, this is a very nice timer from a well-regarded company. I have Intermatic timers on pool lights and front lights and rear flood lamps, and well as for pool pump, and they have all been well-made and function exactly as expected. I have not had good luck with inexpensive off-brands. But Intermatic, please- up your game on the backlight.

This is a great product, and specifically, allows you to turn on and off, say your outdoor security or landscape lighting based on local sunrise and sunset times (which vary by the day the farther north or south of the equator you are over the course of the year) by plus or minus a user-customizable number of minutes. You set it up once, and you are done.There is a model that wirelessly connects to a smart phone app, but as you will likely only need to go through the set up once, or perhaps very rarely after that, the premium you pay to get that functionality is likely overkill.It looks great, allows you to override the set schedule to manually turn power off or on, and seems solidly engineered and well built.
