Note about the Chain

The TOPENS DKC2000S was easy to install and worked very well for several months. However, the gate hit an obstruction one day and I expected it to reverse automatically, but it did not. It actually ended up frying the solar charge controller. The reason the gate did not reverse is because of an incorrectly set 'Force' potentiometer on the control board. The 'Force' potentiometer was set at the factory and the manual did not discuss adjusting it to make the gate reverse properly. I worked with Evelyn at TOPENS customer support to troubleshoot the issue and properly adjust the 'Force' potentiometer. Evelyn sent a new solar charge controller at no cost. I installed the new solar charge controller and the gate is working very well again. Evelyn was fantastic, thank you Evelyn!

This motor is operating a 600 pound gate that has to close up hill at about a 10 degree angle and doesn't struggle at all. We run 2 deep cycle marine batteries from walmart and even after numerous cycles testing it we don't get close to losing power using the solar panels included with the gate.These Topens motors are very smooth running, quiet, and very easy to install. Take your time making sure your motor is positioned so the chain brackets line up with the motor sprocket and everything is in a straight line. Get your magnets installed and everything where you want it BEFORE putting power to the motor and the set up will be a breeze. The only issues I've had setting these up is when we put power to it first and then start messing with magnet placement.

The TOPENS DKC2000S is working precisely as described on the Topens Web Site! My gate is 18' long x 7' high with 2x6 boards (nominal size) Very heavy indeed nonetheless the motor is quite and handling the ride very smoothly. The installation was executed within 5-Hours and the only glitch was the installation of the magnets.

I received a timely response asking which controller to use for my installation. After the installation I had a problem with it not closing. I reached out and received a very quick response advising me to double check the positioning of the limit switch. The installation instruction clearly point out the importance of limit switch placement. Mine was not correct. Once I repositioned it the gate has been working great. Tech support has been great.

I have to say I’ve been really impressed with this gate opener by TOPENS. This is a seriously heavy duty gate opener that is perfect for those with a large gate and a long drive or property without electric accessible near the gate. These types of things can be a bit of a challenge sometimes for those who are not accustom to putting things like this together, but I really have to hand it to TOPENS, because I have never seen an installation video that was so detailed. I REALLY, REALLY like that. I think that shows how much they stand behind their products because to me that is attention to detail. It takes something that can get a little complicated for many people and makes it relatively simple. I mean their video is 30 minutes long and covers every step. That’s impressive. So far, I have been extremely impressed with this gate opener and thoroughly recommend it.

I purchased the Topens DKC200S after searching for the right one. I looked at others, and saw so many reviews. When I came across the dkc2000s, I saw there wasn’t that many reviews. When I read the description of the sliding gate motor I was intrigued. I received the motor, and installed it. Topens customer service was very helpful assisting with the installation. After getting everything up and running I am greatly satisfied the product. It is very capable of the job, and I’m very happy with our sliding gate opener.
