A leveling base for still photography is a great tool to have when you want to do stitched images for panoramas, as getting a photo tripod truly level is difficult at best. This leveling base is so similar to an expensive one I already own - I'm not sure I can tell the difference! The only difference I can find is the engraving. The machining, fit and finish are all very good. I wish I had found this one before I dropped the big bucks on the one I already owned. Five stars on this one!

I normally use a Manfrotto ball-head mount between my little tripod and my Seestar S50. It allows me to quickly level my Seestar, but not usually down to the precision I would like - 0.0 or 0.1.With the addition of this tripod leveler I am able to do a quick rough leveling with the Manfrotto ball-head mount, and then a fine adjustment with this tripod leveler. The tripod leveler did come with a small ball- head mount (see picture), It would be great for use with a camera or maybe with a smart phone adapter, but I wouldn’t put a ~ 7lb telescope on it.In one picture you see the Seestar directly on the tripod leveler without a ball-head mount. That worked, but was much more time consuming than my system of combining the tripod leveler and heavy duty ball/head mount. Also, I definitely recommend adding a quick-release plate.

I do some product photography, and there’s nothing more frustrating than taking the pictures and then realize during editing that everything is a little bit off center, not level. Yes, I can fix it and post, but it’s much easier if you have one less thing to worry about when you sit down to edit. This mounted to my tripod without a problem, very easy to install. I have to admit though, the little clamp that comes with it is almost a joke. It looks so small on top of this leveler. But, if you don’t have a tripod clamp, the one they give you will work just fine for a little projects, or little cameras. Now when I do my product photography I have everything all dialed in and ready to go . I can shoot with confidence, and have one less thing to worry about in post.

This review is for the tripod leveling base by kanfouaela. The product packaging and item itself don't have specific branding or a model number, so I assume this is a generic product. Something to note is that the screw thread on top and bottom is 3/8", which is larger than the typical 1/4" threading used by most consumer equipment. I installed it by removing my tripod's head and mounting this leveling base on the legs. My tripod's head fit on the top of the leveling base.I found this product to be extremely useful for macro photography. I love how you can make fine adjustments without unlocking the head. It's one of those things that I didn't know existed until I saw it, and now, I don't want to do macro shooting without it.Notes:1) Looking at the LP-64 name, this product seems similar to the , though this one supposedly has a wider range of motion and a higher weight limit.

I used this leveler for my Seestar S50 scope. The most interesting part is the attached ballhead as its very useful for equatorial mode. The 3/8 thread of the base is short so it may not hold the equipments very well. This is the only thing I didn't like. I will use the ballhead for equatorial mode and will update you.Update: unfortunately, the ballhead cannot hold my Seestar S50 scope.

What’s wrong with these manufacturers? The 3/8 thread to mount are short by atleast 2-3 mm or couple of threads. beware it may not hold your equipment well. I might just return this than risk damage to my equipment. Secondly if used to mount the Seestar the horizontal bubble level is useless as it gets hidden.
